Bob Briggs is senior vice president and general manager of Qualcomm Internet Services (QIS). QIS enables mobile retailing solutions and Internet services that accelerate consumer adoption and usage of mobile data worldwide.

Briggs is responsible for the day-to-day management of the BREW solution, which enables the development and delivery of advanced wireless data content including in-network, hosted and managed services. Briggs is also responsible for the management of QIS' portfolio of adaptable, modular products which include mobile retailing solutions such as the MPOS product and the Plaza solution. Briggs leads the product management, solutions and marketing, engineering, operations and carrier relations teams.

Briggs joined Qualcomm in 1995 and held various financial roles in product planning and research and development in Qualcomm Consumer Products (QCP), the company's handset division which was sold to Kyocera Wireless in the first half of 2000. When QCP was sold, he worked in the Qualcomm Corporate Strategy Group until the formation of QIS. In April 2001, Briggs was named vice president of finance and operations for QIS. After operating in the business relations capacity for much of his tenure at QIS, Briggs was formally named vice president of global business relations and operations in December 2002 and promoted to senior vice president and general manager of BREW in May 2006.

Briggs has more than15 years of experience in the wireless business, beginning his career in finance in the cellular products division of Hughes Network Systems. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of San Diego and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine.
